Need better Wi-Fi coverage?
Chances are, this can be fixed with a Wireless Access Point (WAP)
A wireless access point (WAP) is a network device that transmits and receives data over a wireless local area network (WLAN), serving as the interconnection point between the WLAN and a fixed wire network.
The typical range of a WAP device is between 150 – 300 feet when unobstructed (outside, large open room, etc.). Wi-Fi signal however, can be greatly affected by physical objects in the path between the WAP unit and the device you want to connect to the internet (walls, floors, etc.). Several WAPs can be used to provide reliable Wi-Fi access throughout the whole of your home or office.
Check out the diagrams below for an example of where WAP devices are installed in a structure. Notice how the signal is affected by the walls in the heat diagrams.
